DOMS Software Emulator
If you are a software developer making Point of Sale solution for petrol stations than you most certainly have already heard about PSS 5000 forecourt controller.
This electronic device is the brain of automated petrol station and it can connect to almost any device found on forecourt today.
PSS 5000 communicates with the rest of computer on network using proprietary TCP/IP protocol and OCX control that you can get from DOMS (after signing distributor contract).
The main problem for developers is that no software emulation of DOMS exists as of today and as of my knowledge, so testing your developing product is done on the site. You will most certainly agree that this is far the worst place to test various features of your product.
Main features
All the most important functions of one petrol station are fully implemented in an emulator:
- Configuring forecourt with up to 20 fueling points with 1-5 nozzles
- Configuring decimal places on displays for unit prices, volume and money amounts
- Lifting nozzle, controlling speed of dispensing and replacing nozzle
- Authorize fuelling point
- Cancel authorize fueling point
- Preset fuelling point with money or volume
- Read transaction
- Lock transaction
- Clear transaction
- Keeping and readout of pump volume and money totalisers
Some of features of DOMS protocol are still not implemented, like totems, car washing machines and automatic payment machines.
